PRIMARY SCHOOL WORKSHOP LIST -
This workshop can be delivered as a follow-up to my Growth Mindset workshop or as a standalone session.
All my workshops are fun, interactive and fast paced. As well as being motivational, the workshops are designed to bring out enterprising and character building behaviours such as self-starting, team working, resilience, problem solving, effective communication, willingness to take a risk, leading others and coming up with new ideas.
Everything I do is based on ‘coaching’ and ‘life
skills’. On these workshop days I want the children to realise
that:
• Everyone is a leader
• Speaking and listening are vital
skills
• Everything we do affects others
• There is always a way to improve
• Confidence comes from experience
As part of the workshop the children
will:
play a shipwrecked game to introduce the idea that everyone is a leader in their particular area or set of skills and also in their position i.e. as role models to younger children in the school
tie themselves in knots to understand that leaders get everyone going in the same direction through effectively speaking and listening to others
arrange a long rope into a circle while blindfolded to show that 'too many cooks spoil the broth' and to reinforce that we should take it in turns to speak and not speak over each other
balance an 8ft bamboo pole on their fingers demonstrating that EVERYONE has a part to play in the success of a team, we are all important, and everything we do / don't do affects those around us
play a 'spot the difference' game to introduce that leaders are always looking around for new opportunities
throw balls into buckets to encourage reflection and improvement and develop the idea that leaders look for ways to improve
develop a presentation to 'sell something' encouraging leadership, communication, team work and confidence
Suitable for all levels of children, these workshops are highly motivational and interactive, and every child will take away something useful which will help their personal development- and they are also great fun.
